Description:
This 28-month project will develop and implement a curriculum to identify the gaps and security needs of women and women identified Trans, Non-Binary, and Two-Spirit (TN2S) in housing services to address the root causes of gender-based violence. Peers Victoria Resource Society, will achieve this by using a trauma-based approach to gender and sexualized violence in housing services by facilitating consultations, developing a curriculum to address service gaps and unmet safety and security needs of women in housing services, and delivering this curriculum to residents, peer support workers and housing operators.
At the end of the project, the organization will have developed promising practices that have increased networks and collaboration to accelerate systemic change, addressed persistent harmful gender norms and attitudes, advanced inclusive policies, and practices, and supported positive distribution of authority, voices, and decision-making power.

Program Purpose:
The purpose of the GBV Program is to strengthen the GBV sector to address gaps in supports for two groups of survivors: 1) Indigenous women and their communities, and 2) underserved populations (including women living with a disability, non-status/refugee /immigrant women, LGBTQ2S, gender non-conforming people and ethno-cultural women) in Canada. The Program provides grant and contribution funding to Canadian organizations to improve supports to help create long-term, comprehensive solutions at the national, regional, and local levels.
