Description:

Through this multiyear and multi-phased PAE’s National Study, Action Plan, and Pilot Program will help advance women’s recovery from the economic and employment impacts of COVID-19 through systemic change. Specifically, the project will measure and identify systemic barriers with the South Asian unemployment rate with advancement of inclusive policies and practices; increase networks and collaboration to accelerate change; support positive distribution of authority and decision-making; address persistent and harmful gender norms and attitudes. Grounded in data, the initiative is broken into four parts:1) National study to identify and measuring the barriers faced by South Asian women using a combination of a mass survey and interviews; 2) Report dissemination focused on addressing the top barriers, relevant findings and engaging the South Asian community, companies, and not-for-profits on an action plan; 3) Pilot Programs - Launching 1-3 programs in the top identified and prioritized sectors as partners to remove the top identified systemic barriers in the experience of participants; 4) Follow up results study to measure any changes with respondents in pilot programs with focus on improving the high unemployment rate among South Asian women and distributing results with like networks.
