Description:
This 32-month project will enable the organization of a provincial gathering of LGBTQ2 organizations to engage in strategic reflection on developing a shared organizational vision that considers the diversity of realities and issues faced by LGBTQ2 communities in Quebec. It will also contribute to strengthening the organization's financial sustainability and its capacity to support its members by improving its communication practises, implementing a micro-financing program primarily for LGBTQ2 service organizations located outside of the province's metropolitan areas, and providing fundraising support services and capacity-building activities to its members.
The additional $300,000 in funding will allow for continued expansion of the organization through the strengthening of its governance and communication practises, in addition to program development. The organization will also implement an action plan derived from its own strategic planning in order to build the capacity of its member organizations by creating an intra- and inter-regional mentorship program, exploring new networking opportunities, developing a fundraising strategy, and organizing a second provincial LGBTQ+ consultation meeting with member organizations.
The 12-month extension and the second tranche of additional funding will allow the organization to build a culture of solidarity and mutual support among its members in order to strengthen the democratic practices, representativeness and legitimacy of the council, and to reinforce the cohesion of their working team as well as its internal skills.

Program Purpose:
The purpose of ESSOGIE program is to advance social, political and economic equality with respect to sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression.
Advancement towards a greater understanding of the intersection of sex and gender with other identity factors that include race, national and ethnic origin, Indigenous origin or identity, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic condition, place of residence and disability are encouraged under the Program.
