Description:
Through this 39-month project, Infinity Women Secretariat Inc. (IWS) will increase its capacity to prevent and address gender-based violence (GBV) against Indigenous women, girls, or 2SLGBTQIA+ people with a focus on Red River Métis community in Manitoba. Through this 39-month project, Infinity Women Secretariat Inc. (IWS) will increase its capacity to prevent and address Gender-Based Violence (GBV) throughout the Red River Métis community. This will be achieved by engaging with public policy experts to identify research gaps, conduct annual GBA+ socio-economic surveys, develop a Métis-specific GBA+ toolkit and GBA+ policies for the national Métis government, Affiliates and organizations, along with the development of the MMIWG2S+ Implementation Action Plan, while evaluating and improving IWS internal capacity. This project will partner with the Manitoba Métis Federation, to support their GBA+ capacity of their policy, research, evaluation, and consultations. By the end of this project, Infinity Women Secretariat Inc. will have strengthened its capacity to prevent and address GBV against Métis women, girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ individuals, with a focus on developing more inclusive policies and programs within the Red River Métis community.
