Agreement Date:
Oct 1, 2021 - Mar 31, 2024
Description:
This 30-month project will support a feminist response and recovery from the current impacts of COVID-19, through systemic change. Women in Leadership will achieve this by identifying and addressing persistent harmful gender norms and attitudes. At the end of the project, the organization will have contributed to addressing systemic barriers by increasing women’s labour market participation and opportunities by working with employers to create & amend policies and procedures as well as address gender biases so as to support more women applying for leadership and decision-making positions to support women’s equality. This project will bring together employers and stakeholders to identify gender bias norms in their hiring practices & policies and to understand how to build an inclusive HR framework to support more women to apply and be considered for leadership positions. The project will help employers identify sector and community stakeholder platforms of engagement that will support awareness of the inclusive policies and actions taken or to be taken by the employers. It will also measure any short term progress made with stakeholders on updating policies and addressing bias norms and barriers, and include feedback from actions & activities of the project (surveys, committee reviews) within the broad spectrum of participating industries and communities The additional funding will support the project’s potential and accommodate registrants for the Stakeholders Development Committee Summit; hire an additional project assistant, engage three more key Advisory Board members; and pay for additional software, bookkeeping and financial audit costs to achieve the project objectives.
