Description:

Through this 17-month project, PEERS Alliance will develop community-informed solutions to key barriers and gaps facing 2SLGBTQ+ communities. This will be achieved by developing and delivering workshops for and to Service Providers, 2SLGBTQ2+ youth and other community members. With the support of a social worker, 2SLGBTQ+ community members will have access to support, helping to improve their resiliency and allowing them to learn to overcome barriers. At the end of the project, PEERS Alliance will have identified best practices for trauma-informed and resilience focused 2SLGBTQ+ programming.

The purpose of ESSOGIE program is to advance social, political and economic equality with respect to sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression.

Advancement towards a greater understanding of the intersection of sex and gender with other identity factors that include race, national and ethnic origin, Indigenous origin or identity, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic condition, place of residence and disability are encouraged under the Program.
