This 60-month Project will support the long-term viability of the Victoria Sexual Assault Centre to advance gender equity for women, Trans, Two-Spirit, and Gender-Diverse survivors of sexual assault by building a strong foundation for an innovative, healthy, and stable workplace culture through the development of a staff engagement strategy, strategic plan, succession plans for key roles in the organization, and policies and procedures based on anti-oppressive feminist values. The Project will address the need to mitigate the risk of staff turnover, develop a robust and healthy work culture, and provide a clear vision, strategic direction, and measurable goals for future growth. Supplemental funding will be used to assess and improve human resources management systems and processes, enhance board recruitment process to ensure equity, diverse representation, and accessibility, and to diversify funding sources (e.g., monthly donor program and donor database)

The purpose of the Women’s Program is to advance equality for women in Canada by working to address or remove systemic barriers impeding women’s progress and advancement. The WP supports the Government of Canada’s goal of advancing gender equality in Canada. It is consistent with Government of Canada priorities related to economic prosperity, and supports Canada’s international commitments related to gender equality.
