Organizational and Leadership Development in Middlesex County

This 57-month project will address organizational capacity needs to allow the Women's Rural Resource Centre to continue promoting social and systemic change towards gender equality. Organizational capacity will be enhanced through the development of a strategic plan, a human resources, volunteer and donor management infrastructure, as well as a public education and advocacy strategy. The organization will also strengthen its position as a leader in advancing the women’s movement in rural Ontario through the development and implementation of a co-active leadership strategy that will increase the Centre’s leadership and advocacy competencies and engage stakeholders and develop partnership collaborations to mobilize change agents in Middlesex County. Covid supplementary funding will be used for hiring a videographer to create web-based training materials related to leadership development program. The 2023 supplementary funding will be used to hire a Consultant to lead the development of the 2024-2029 Strategic plan.

The purpose of the Women’s Program is to advance equality for women in Canada by working to address or remove systemic barriers impeding women’s progress and advancement. The WP supports the Government of Canada’s goal of advancing gender equality in Canada. It is consistent with Government of Canada priorities related to economic prosperity, and supports Canada’s international commitments related to gender equality.
