Increasing Our Capacity to Engage with Survivors in York Region

This 56-month project will address organizational capacity needs to allow Women's Support Network of York Region (WSN) to continue promoting social and systemic change towards gender equality. Organizational capacity will be enhanced through the development of a sustainable strategic plan, strengthening Human Resources policies and procedures, expanding the volunteer program framework and related resources, addressing financial health through grant applications and the establishment of a fundraising strategy, as well as updating the WSN website. The 2023 supplemental funding will be used to review, revise, and update the sustainable strategic plan and the fundraising strategy based on lessons learned and changes made during the COVID 19 Pandemic. An organizational advocacy plan will be developed to address the increased need for services and seek stakeholder support or investment in WSN/community-based sexual assault services.

Women's Program

The purpose of the Women’s Program is to advance equality for women in Canada by working to address or remove systemic barriers impeding women’s progress and advancement. The WP supports the Government of Canada’s goal of advancing gender equality in Canada. It is consistent with Government of Canada priorities related to economic prosperity, and supports Canada’s international commitments related to gender equality.
