Description:
This 60-month project will address organizational capacity needs to allow the Sexual Assault Support Centre of Waterloo Region to continue promoting social and systemic change towards gender equality. Organizational capacity will be enhanced through the development of an organizational sustainability plan that includes partnerships building and a social enterprise model, as well as the implementation of technological upgrades to better support the expanded suite of services in fulfilling the organization’s mission to end violence against women and girls in the Waterloo Region. The supplemental funds will be used to build their capacity and sustainability through the transition to a new client database that will better meet the needs of their diverse programming, freeing up a great deal of administrative time, and providing them with the data needed for reports and funding applications.

The purpose of the Women’s Program is to advance equality for women in Canada by working to address or remove systemic barriers impeding women’s progress and advancement. The WP supports the Government of Canada’s goal of advancing gender equality in Canada. It is consistent with Government of Canada priorities related to economic prosperity, and supports Canada’s international commitments related to gender equality.
