Fit for the future: Restructuring the Sexual Assault Support Centre of Ottawa for the survivors of today and tomorrow

This 59-month project will address organizational capacity needs to allow The Sexual Assault Support Centre of Ottawa to continue promoting social and systemic change towards gender equality. Organizational capacity will be enhanced through the development of a 3-year strategic plan; by strengthening Human Resources policies and procedures, including the creation of a renewed staffing and membership structure adapted for greater flexibility; and through the development of an evaluation framework and associated tools and resources, incorporating feminist and gender-sensitive approaches. Supplemental funding provided in 2020 will be used to advise the Board of Directors on a risk assessment of existing policies and to revise priority policies to better reflect the governance structure and to rapidly adjust to the current pandemic context. Supplemental funding in 2023 will be used to assess and renew the strategic plan and develop an organizational recruitment and retention plan, a staff performance measurement tool, and a succession plan for the organization.

Women's Program

The purpose of the Women’s Program is to advance equality for women in Canada by working to address or remove systemic barriers impeding women’s progress and advancement. The WP supports the Government of Canada’s goal of advancing gender equality in Canada. It is consistent with Government of Canada priorities related to economic prosperity, and supports Canada’s international commitments related to gender equality.
