Description:
Through this 30-month project, the Pride Society of the Comox Valley (PSCV) will increase the capacity of 2SLGBTQI+ community organizations and networks to advance 2SLGBTQI+ equality. It will address accessibility gaps in services and barriers for seniors, low-income, and people experiencing homelessness. It will also address the need for community consultation to determine program and resource development. The project will be a path towards connecting the existing informal networks within the 2SLGBTQI+ community with the result of increased visibility, less isolation, and greater capacity for advocacy, education and action. The project will include hiring a part-time coordinator on a 2-year contract to facilitate strategic planning, community engagement with the local 2SLGBTQI+ community and PSCV members, and developing resources for outreach, advocacy and education.
