Description:
Through this 40-month project, Singing Out will build stronger capacity of 2SLGBTQI+ community organizations and networks to advance 2SLGBTQI+ equality. It will address inclusion and visibility of 2SLGBTQI+ people in Toronto's artistic community. The project will include the development of a new equity focused strategic plan, the review and implementation of a new organizational governance model and the diversification of fundraising sources to ensure growth and sustainability of the programs and activities that community members rely on. With the supplemental funds and extension provided in early 2026, Singing Out will strengthen its organizational capacity by enhancing governance and financial management systems through a comprehensive Policy and Procedure Manual, a formal decision making and accountability framework, succession planning tools, and standardized financial tracking and board focused financial literacy resources. Through this they will further advance Gender Equality.

Program Purpose:

The purpose of ESSOGIE program is to advance social, political and economic equality with respect to sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression.

Advancement towards a greater understanding of the intersection of sex and gender with other identity factors that include race, national and ethnic origin, Indigenous origin or identity, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic condition, place of residence and disability are encouraged under the Program.
