Description:
Through this 28-month project, Rainbow Community Places will build stronger capacity of 2SLGBTQI+ community organizations and networks to advance 2SLGBTQI+ equality. It will address the need to increase organizational governance structures and planning to provide structured programs for intergenerational members of the 2SLGBTQI+ community to address issues specific to the community and related health, safety, and social issues. The project will include capacity building for organizational decision making, strategic planning and financial management to support the development of tools and resources to effectively manage and maintain staff and volunteers and to increase collaboration with other 2SLGBTQI+ organizations and community resources.

Program Purpose:
The purpose of ESSOGIE program is to advance social, political and economic equality with respect to sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression.
Advancement towards a greater understanding of the intersection of sex and gender with other identity factors that include race, national and ethnic origin, Indigenous origin or identity, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic condition, place of residence and disability are encouraged under the Program.
