Description:

Through this 29-month project, PEI Transgender Network (PEITN) will build stronger capacity of 2SLGTBI+ community organizations and network to advance 2SLGTBQI+ equality. The project will address the organization’s capacity to gather knowledge and resources, while addressing data gaps pertaining to the community. This will allow PEITN to identify common barriers faced by community members in Prince Edward Island. This will be achieved by strengthening the organizational governance structure and advocacy planning, and by designing and implementing a strategic plan that is developed by and for transgender and gender diverse community.

The purpose of ESSOGIE program is to advance social, political and economic equality with respect to sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression.

Advancement towards a greater understanding of the intersection of sex and gender with other identity factors that include race, national and ethnic origin, Indigenous origin or identity, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic condition, place of residence and disability are encouraged under the Program.
