Description:

Through this 16-month project, Rainbow Service Organization will build stronger capacity of 2SLGBTQI+ community organizations and networks to advance 2SLGBTQI+ equality, wellbeing, and inclusion. The project will include engaging with 2SLGBTQI+ community members in the Peterborough City and County to better determine their needs and align services; a needs assessment report and follow-up next steps report to address gaps and challenges will be developed. The project will also include collaboration with various community stakeholders by establishing a 2SLGBTQIA+ Coalition that will work towards developing an action plan based on the needs assessment and next steps reports.

The purpose of ESSOGIE program is to advance social, political and economic equality with respect to sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression.

Advancement towards a greater understanding of the intersection of sex and gender with other identity factors that include race, national and ethnic origin, Indigenous origin or identity, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic condition, place of residence and disability are encouraged under the Program.
