Description:
Through this 30-month project, Wood Buffalo Pride Society will build stronger capacity of 2SLGBTQI+ community organizations and networks to advance 2SLGBTQI+ equality. It will address the challenges faced by the organization as they transition from being a volunteer run organization to having paid staff to address the increasing need for support services and expand to include rural Indigenous communities in the region. The project will include creating and implementing a five-year strategic plan, and financial sustainability plan.
To achieve these goals, Wood Buffalo Pride Society will partner with various community organizations to leverage their network and to ensure a coordinated approach to better serve the needs of the 2SLGBTQI+ community.

The purpose of ESSOGIE program is to advance social, political and economic equality with respect to sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression.
Advancement towards a greater understanding of the intersection of sex and gender with other identity factors that include race, national and ethnic origin, Indigenous origin or identity, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic condition, place of residence and disability are encouraged under the Program.
