Description:

Through this 14-month project, Sault Pride will build stronger capacity of 2SLGBTQI+ community organizations to advance 2SLGBTQI+ equality by attaining not-for-profit incorporation. It will address a lack of formalized local supports and advocacy for the 2SLGBTQI+ community and its constituent members. The project will include establishing a Board of Directors, applying for and achieving not-for-profit incorporation status, developing organizational policies and procedures and engaging with local Black, Indigenous, and Persons-of-Colour (BIPOC) community organizations.

The purpose of ESSOGIE program is to advance social, political and economic equality with respect to sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression.

Advancement towards a greater understanding of the intersection of sex and gender with other identity factors that include race, national and ethnic origin, Indigenous origin or identity, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic condition, place of residence and disability are encouraged under the Program.
