Description:
Through this 28-month project, Pride PEI will build stronger capacity of 2SLGBTQIA+ community organizations and networks to advance 2SLGBTQIA+ equality. It will address and meet the needs of their local community by aiming to better define the role of Pride PEI and invest in the tools needed to strengthen its board and governance procedures. It will also support efforts to address its financial capacity and sustainability, and of other queer serving organizations. The project will include the development and implementation of Pride PEI’s first strategic plan, work to expand their governance and operational manuals, policies, and procedures. It will also provide support to other queer serving organizations in their advocacy initiatives. This collaborative effort will focus on resource sharing among organizations to offer a reliable and equitable flow of resources to strengthen partner organizations, which will foster sustainability and collective growth in the community.

The purpose of ESSOGIE program is to advance social, political and economic equality with respect to sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression.
Advancement towards a greater understanding of the intersection of sex and gender with other identity factors that include race, national and ethnic origin, Indigenous origin or identity, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic condition, place of residence and disability are encouraged under the Program.
