Description:
Through this 27-month project, the Coalition of LGBTQ+ Youth Groups will strengthen the capacity and networks of 2SLGBTQI+ community organizations to promote equality for 2SLGBTQI+ people. It will focus on improving the sustainability and proper functioning of youth and 2SLGBTQI+ organizations, preserving knowledge in 2SLGBTQI+ networks, the various systemic barriers to leadership positions existing in communities, and the barriers faced by the most marginalized when in positions of power. The project will include consulting with various youth and 2SLGBTQI+ leaders; developing HR and knowledge transfer guides for the inclusion of diverse 2SLGBTQI+ youth and distributing these guides to members; developing tools for the sustainability of the organization and its membership, such as writing clinics for grant applications and a strategic funding plan; and lastly, holding a conference to present the guides and results internally.

Program Purpose:

The purpose of ESSOGIE program is to advance social, political and economic equality with respect to sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression.

Advancement towards a greater understanding of the intersection of sex and gender with other identity factors that include race, national and ethnic origin, Indigenous origin or identity, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic condition, place of residence and disability are encouraged under the Program.
