Description:
Through this 25-month project, Nunavik Investment Corporation (NIC) will build its capacity to advance gender equality. It will address NIC’s capacity to address and advocate for women's issues and needs within the Nunavik region in relation to the many barriers to entrepreneurship faced by women in the region. The project will include identifying necessary elements to support women’s entrepreneurship in Nunavik; identifying and adjusting NIC’s approaches, methods, and materials according to the identified needs; and establishing and fostering a network to facilitate collaboration to support female entrepreneurs.
The supplement will enable NIC to better understand and address lateral violence preventing women entrepreneurs in Nunavik that can discourage women from starting or even growing their businesses.

The WP supports the Government of Canada’s goal of advancing gender equality in Canada. It is consistent with Government of Canada priorities related to economic prosperity, and supports Canada’s international commitments related to gender equality.
