Description:
Through this 25-month project, Rainbow Railroad will build a stronger capacity of 2SLGBTQI+ community organizations and networks to advance 2SLGBTQI+ equality. It will strengthen its organizational capacity and its security infrastructure to optimize its community engagement and the security of 2SLGBTQI+ individuals seeking safety in Canada. To do so, the organization will first work with IT consultants to review and assess their infrastructure and cyber security needs. They will then develop risk management strategies, starting with a framework and action plan, and then develop risk policies, risk procedures and a risk register. In addition to this, Rainbow Railroad will develop an internal capacity building plan for staff and volunteers, focusing on internal hiring, recruitment, and retention. These activities will enable the organization to improve its services and its work within the 2SLGBTQI+ community.

Advancement towards a greater understanding of the intersection of sex and gender with other identity factors that include race, national and ethnic origin, Indigenous origin or identity, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic condition, place of residence and disability are encouraged under the Program.
