Description:
Through this 24-month project, NWAC seeks to support the academic and professional goals of Indigenous youth (age 15 to 30 inclusive) by developing and disseminating lasting resources informed by and created by the youth group. NWAC’s completed Indigenous Youth project, G4E, developed and tested an online networking platform for Indigenous youth to learn about and engage in gender equality advocacy. This new project will scale up the gathering and sharing of information and resources identified as key areas by the Youth Council. Specifically, NWAC will: engage in knowledge gathering and community engagement by developing a literature review, hosting annual meetings with NWAC’s Youth Council to guide the project, and hosting four Sharing Circles with Indigenous Youth to inform on key areas of focus and needs the project can address; develop resources and plans for knowledge dissemination by engaging in networking and relationship building, identifying potential professional and academic opportunities for Indigenous Youth, creating toolkits, webinars and/or fact sheets, establishing results measurement tools, and disseminating resources through NWAC’s network, social media and website; engage Indigenous Youth both in-person, and virtually, through updates to NWAC’s G4E platform and promotion of materials through NWAC’s network and social media accounts and, finally ,evaluate and report on project outcomes and future recommendations.
