Specifically, the project will address systemic barriers that marginalized women face in securing meaningful employment within non-traditional workplaces. The project will 1) implement focus groups and mentorship opportunities to connect marginalized women with organizations that seek to improve their hiring and inclusion practices; 2) review existing policies and procedures within participating businesses through a gender-based lens; and 3) create educational templates and materials to support the development of updated policies and procedures to enable women to thrive in non-traditional sectors. Occupational specific training will be offered to the women based on employer feedback from the focus groups. An external evaluator will measure and assess the impact of the systemic change project.
