Clan Mothers Financial and Management Leadership Project

Through this 19-month capacity building project, Clan Mothers Turtle Lodge will enhance their capacity to revise their current financial and administrative policies to reflect an Indigenous and matrilineal approach. Clan Mothers Turtle Lodge will review all current financial policies and procedures to ensure they are reflective of the organizational vision of being women-led, Indigenous-led and matrilineal in focus. Complete project management, financial literacy and leadership training will be provided to all staff to enhance organizational capacity. Clan Mothers Turtle Lodge will develop a 3-year strategic plan that encompasses all current and future programming. A reporting tool will be developed and implemented to support engagement with community partners and funders. This project will focus on the development of leadership capacity in both the Clan Mothers organization and in women and 2SLGBTQI+ organizations across Western Canada and Northwestern Ontario.

The purpose of the Women’s Program is to advance equality for women in Canada by working to address or remove systemic barriers impeding women’s progress and advancement. The WP supports the Government of Canada’s goal of advancing gender equality in Canada. It is consistent with Government of Canada priorities related to economic prosperity, and supports Canada’s international commitments related to gender equality.
