Description:
Through this 20-month project, The Period Purse will build its capacity to advance gender equality. It will address the gap in research of who experiences period poverty and how period poverty presents in communities experiencing period poverty; identify needs and trends in period poverty across youth demographics; and identify the barriers and limitations to creating period-positive spaces while generating productive conversations around menstrual equity with various decision makers and policy developers. The project will include the development of an advocacy strategy and toolkit informed by people with lived experience; strengthening community engagement strategies; and delivering training on advocacy and engagement strategies to equip staff, volunteers, and the Board of Directors to advance system change for menstrual equity.
