Description:
Through this 20-month capacity building project, The Shine Network Institute will enhance their capacity to advance gender equality by identifying the needs and barriers Indigenous women are facing within the Canadian screen sector. Specifically, this project will focus on the development of strategic and long-term sustainable planning with the creation of a strategic plan, and the establishment of an Indigenous Pedagogy Policy. The Shine Network Institute will conduct a needs assessment, comprehensive data collection and analysis, to gain a detailed understanding of the root causes and geographical differences of the challenges faced by Indigenous women in the Canadian screen sector. An Indigenous Pedagogy Policy will be implemented, focusing on education and training within the organization that is culturally informed, accessible, and safe. The Shine Network Institute will also develop a comprehensive strategic plan, serving as a roadmap for implementing sustainable solutions to the identified challenges, ultimately enhancing the impact and reach of the organization.
