Through this 30-month project, Victoria Faulkner Women’s Centre will build its capacity to advance gender equality. It will address the need for effective organization wide communication and assess options to increase access to diverse employment options. The project will include enhancing organizational communication capacity, implementing a communications and social media strategy, rebranding and renaming the centre and completing a feasibility study for the creation of an employment training/placement service. With the Supplemental funds and extension provided in early 2026, the Victoria Faulkner Women’s Centre will strengthen governance procedures supporting timely oversight, develop continuity and reporting tools, and implement streamlined work planning, outcome tracking, and reporting systems with staff training for organization-wide adoption. Through this, they will further advance Gender Equality.

Women's Program

The purpose of the Women’s Program is to advance equality for women in Canada by working to address or remove systemic barriers impeding women’s progress and advancement. The WP supports the Government of Canada’s goal of advancing gender equality in Canada. It is consistent with Government of Canada priorities related to economic prosperity, and supports Canada’s international commitments related to gender equality.
