Description:
Through this 30-month project, Out on the Shelf Inc. will address the needs and barriers to equality for 2SLGBTQI+ communities. It will address the need to provide resources and support to the 2SLGBTQI+ people, while addressing barriers faced by them in the Guelph-Wellington Region. The project will achieved this by: 1) developing and testing education resources for service providers to address barriers across multiple service sectors; 2) developing and testing resources and a workshop series to support 2SLGBTQIA+ people and their families to better access services and better advocate for themselves when facing barriers; 3) Develop resources outlining 2SLGBTQIA+ services and programs in the region; and 4) Create educational resources outlining the history of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community both within the region and globally. The organization will disseminate the tested education resources through their website and within the community.
