Description:
Through this 28-month project, the Conseil québécois LGBT will address 2SLGBTQI+ communities’ needs and barriers to equality, and it will work to permanently remove barriers to employment for trans and non-binary people and for 2SLGBTQIA+ people more broadly. To achieve this, the organization will conduct a needs analysis and collect data, produce a recommendation guide promoting the development of inclusive practices for employment assistance services, develop interactive training for professionals supporting job seekers that educates and equips staff to serve 2SLGBTQIA+ people, and finally, support organizations that provide employment services in implementing lasting practices for inclusion.

Program Purpose:

The purpose of ESSOGIE program is to advance social, political and economic equality with respect to sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression.

Advancement towards a greater understanding of the intersection of sex and gender with other identity factors that include race, national and ethnic origin, Indigenous origin or identity, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic condition, place of residence and disability are encouraged under the Program.
