Tracking Impact: Measuring Change Against Sexual Violence in Saskatchewan

Through this 15-month project Sexual Assault Services of Saskatchewan will strengthen the GBV sector to address gaps in supports by strengthening data collection on sexual violence in Saskatchewan. To enhance Saskatchewan-specific, community data collection to measure progress in sexual violence prevention efforts and capture the unique realities of Saskatchewan’s rural, remote, northern and Indigenous communities the organization will conduct key activities that include working with communities to identify meaningful indicators of change, establishing practical data collection tools and baseline data points as well as developing a publicly accessible online dashboard. By the end of the project Sexual Assault Services of Saskatchewan Inc, will have partnered with community-based organizations, research institutions and government stakeholders to empower organizations, improve policy responses and enhance the accountability of sexual violence prevention efforts across the province.

Gender-Based Violence Program

The purpose of the GBV Program is to strengthen the GBV sector to address gaps in supports for two groups of survivors: 1) Indigenous women and their communities, and 2) underserved populations (including women living with a disability, non-status/refugee /immigrant women, LGBTQ2S, gender non-conforming people and ethno-cultural women) in Canada. The Program provides grant and contribution funding to Canadian organizations to improve supports to help create long-term, comprehensive solutions at the national, regional, and local levels.
