Description:
Through this 25-month project, the Groupe régional d’intervention sociale de l’Estrie (GRIS Estrie) will address 2SLGBTQI+ communities’ needs and barriers to equality. To achieve this, the organization will collaborate with and engage frontline workers and sexually and gender-diverse people in the Haut-Saint-François region to determine their specific needs. Tools, training, and/or activities will be developed for this purpose and deployed among the project’s target populations. The rural experience in Haut-Saint-François will be documented and shared in a visual, accessible format to raise awareness and inspire other, similar initiatives in rural areas.

Advancement towards a greater understanding of the intersection of sex and gender with other identity factors that include race, national and ethnic origin, Indigenous origin or identity, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic condition, place of residence and disability are encouraged under the Program.
