Description:
This 29-month project will develop and implement a guide on best practices and support for front-line service partners to make their environments safer and more inclusive for women and girls of sexual diversity and gender plurality, and to address the root causes of gender-based violence. The organization plans to engage partners, develop self-assessment tools and document inclusive best practices to guide and support stakeholders in diagnosing needs and in creating and implementing customized response plans in line with the context of their intervention work. An awareness campaign will focus on reinforcing positive behaviours by first responders delivering support services to sexual diversity and gender plurality communities, particularly trans women in crisis. By the end of the project, the organization will have strengthened the safety nets for serving and supporting sexually diverse and gender plural women and girls in crisis, raised awareness among first responders about promising practices and assertive behaviours, and equipped the partners involved to create safe and inclusive service spaces.

Program Purpose:

The Program provides grant and contribution funding to Canadian organizations to improve supports to help create long-term, comprehensive solutions at the national, regional, and local levels.
