Agreement Number:

Agreement Value:

Agreement Date:

Description:
This 29-month scale-up project will further develop and implement the recommendations of West Central Women’s Resource Centre’s report Connecting the Circle: A Gender-Based Strategy to End Homelessness, addressing systems gaps at the intersection of gender-based violence and housing insecurity, in order to address the root causes of gender-based violence. West Central Women’s Resource Centre will achieve this through policy development and change within a community of practice; increasing sector knowledge through curriculum development and training; building a coordinated service delivery model; and engaging with stakeholders to advocate for sustainable system wide change. At the end of the project, the organization will have developed a promising practice that advanced inclusive policies and practices, encouraged more equitable and effective sharing of resources, increased networks and collaboration to accelerate systemic change, supported positive distribution of authority, voices, and decision-making power, and addressed persistent harmful gender norms and attitudes to support women’s equality. A working group of partner agencies, who will conduct consultations with community members of lived experience, will build the coordinated service delivery model, and a Gender-Based Violence working group will focus on stakeholder engagement. West Central Women’s Resource Centre will work with a variety of partners throughout the project through a community of practice, and the success of the project will be assessed through an external evaluation framework.

The Program provides grant and contribution funding to Canadian organizations to improve supports to help create long-term, comprehensive solutions at the national, regional, and local levels.
