Agreement Value:

Agreement Date:
Jun 25, 2021 - Jun 24, 2024
Description:
This 36-month project will mitigate the consequences of economic abuse survivors and promote women’s financial independence especially newcomers, refugees, racialized and Indigenous women. This will be achieved by having better data in place that would help monitor systemic barriers and research best practices for policies to prevent and respond to financial abuse. It will address systemic change through economic justice for survivors of economic abuse by conducting research and data collection, establishing a national working group with the intention of creating a national action plan, generating best practices for financial institutions, and developing a financial safety planning app. Partnerships will play a key role in this project. The supplemental funds will be used to cover the higher application development costs and the hiring of a coordinator to finalize the French translations and manage related tasks.
