Description:
This 29-month project supports a feminist response to and recovery from the current impact of COVID-19 through systemic change. To achieve this objective, Puakuteu women’s committee of Mashteuiatsh plans to strengthen its activities through its Indigenous Women’s Action Centre; develop and implement an action plan under the, “Framework for Equality and Gender Equality in the Pekuakamiulnuatsh First Nation,” including a promotional campaign to raise awareness about the framework, engage community partners and create multidisciplinary collaboration.
By the end of the project, the organization will have contributed toward eliminating systemic barriers by promoting inclusive policies and practices and by encouraging more effective and equitable resource sharing.
The project will expand networks and collaboration to accelerate systemic change and support a positive division of power, voice and decision-making, with support for women’s equality
