Agreement Date:

Description:
This 26 month project will support a feminist response and recovery from the current impacts of COVID-19, through systemic change. Lifetime Productions Ltd will achieve this by conducting research and assessment using GBA plus methods to understand barriers currently preventing Indigenous women from entering careers in technology. An advisory committee will be created to include members from tech and women’s groups to guide the project in policy development and changes in programming that will have long-term impacts for inclusion initiatives for the tech sector. The project will empower and encourage Indigenous women into leadership and decision-making positions within the technology industry. This will create inclusive initiatives to create systemic change within the Saskatchewan Tech Sector. At the end of the project, the organization will have contributed to addressing systemic barriers by Advancing inclusive policies and practices; encouraging more equitable and effective sharing of resources; increasing networks and collaboration to accelerate systemic change; supporting positive distribution of authority, voices, and decision-making power; and addressing persistent harmful gender norms and attitudes to support women’s equality. Through partnerships with local Indigenous education institutes, and the tech industry in Saskatchewan, policies and recommendations will be created and shared to governmental organizations, women’s programs, technology accelerators and educational institutions. Success will be measured by the impact of adjustments made to the Founder’s Table program resulting in more indigenous women being introduced to the technology industry.
