Description:
This 25-month project will adapt, pilot, and evaluate tools and models to expand the capacity of K-12 educators to create Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI)-inclusive schools for all students. ARC Foundation will achieve this by building and strengthening SOGI educator networks, carrying out two environmental scans, designing and piloting models to deliver SOGI 1 2 3 in French and in an educational environment with varying funding and support contexts, creating, and adapting digital tools and assets to support educators, and evaluating the impact of the project. At the end of the project, the organization will have enhanced equality for LGBTQ2 people by equipping educators, school staff and community partners with critical knowledge, tools and supports, and by challenging norms, attitudes, and behaviours in schools to ensure school is a welcoming, SOGI - inclusive and positive space for all children and youth. Project success will allow for wider implementation of SOGI 1 2 3 in collaboration with education partners in the educational jurisdictions involved.

Advancement towards a greater understanding of the intersection of sex and gender with other identity factors that include race, national and ethnic origin, Indigenous origin or identity, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic condition, place of residence and disability are encouraged under the Program.
