Description:
This 27-month project will strengthen the capacity and networks of TransSask Support Services Inc. to advance LGBTQ equality. This will be achieved by building managerial capacity through a strategic plan, an advocacy strategy, an outreach plan, and board outreach and development events; increasing access to evidence, data, information, and knowledge sources through a
needs assessment, a provincial survey, and interviews; and strengthening collaboration among organizations and stakeholders by hosting a series of focus groups.
The supplemental funds, PHASE 2, will be used to build long-term financial stability through organizational development planning and activities inclusive of identifying sources of core funding; hosting BIPOC community working groups, expanding reach to rural and remote pride organizations and 2SLGBTQ+ community members, and expanding board governance to
include other 2SLGBTQ+ organization representatives. The supplemental funds will also be used to build on the research conducted in phase 1 to mobilize knowledge and present findings through online publishing, media campaigns, conferences and governmental outreach.
At the end of the project, the organization will have increased knowledge and capacity to advance equality with respect to sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression; and established and strengthened partnerships and collaborations to support the LGBTQ2 movement.
