Building the Capacity of the Ending Violence Association of BC to Support the Anti-Violence Sector and Survivors of Gender-Based Violence

This 58-month project will address organizational capacity needs to allow the organization to continue promoting social and systemic change towards gender equality. Organizational capacity will be enhanced through the following activities: strategic and succession planning; partnership development; and financial sustainability planning. This provincial project will allow EVA BC to continue to support and coordinate community-based anti-violence programs across BC. Supplemental funding will be used to conduct an environmental scan of key advocacy issues in the gender-based violence sector, to build organizational capacity to affect change through the development of an advocacy strategy and to implement the advocacy strategy through the organizations communications strategy plan.

The purpose of the Women’s Program is to advance equality for women in Canada by working to address or remove systemic barriers impeding women’s progress and advancement. The WP supports the Government of Canada’s goal of advancing gender equality in Canada. It is consistent with Government of Canada priorities related to economic prosperity, and supports Canada’s international commitments related to gender equality.
