Description:
Through this 8-month project, the Truro Pride Society will develop community-informed solutions to key barriers and gaps facing SLGBTQI+ communities. This will be achieved by developing a certification process for service providers that will support them in creating inclusive, affirming, and trauma-informed approaches as they serve the 2SLGBTQI+ community in Colchester, Cumberland, and Pictou counties in Nova Scotia.
The Truro Pride Society will also consult with community members and stakeholders in the research and development of an online and print directory of service providers who have received certification through this process. These directories will empower community members and their service providers to identify and access appropriate programs, services and supports.
