Agreement Date:

Description:
Through this 42-month project, Alter Acadie NB, New Brunswick’s Franco-Queer organization, will strengthen the capacity of 2SLGBTQIA+ organizations and their networks to promote equality for 2SLGBTQIA+ people. It will address two key issues: strategic planning and the collection of reliable data and insights on the challenges and barriers faced by New Brunswick’s French-speaking 2SLGBTQIA+ community. The project will focus, on the one hand, on positioning the organization to contribute more effectively to advancing gender equality in the province across priority areas of activity by improving its advocacy capacity and strengthening member engagement, and, on the other hand, strengthening Alter Acadie NB’s organizational management to provide more active support for the sustainability of the 2SLGBTQIA+ movement in New Brunswick. This will be achieved by assessing, developing, and implementing a strategic plan, as well as by developing and implementing a data collection strategy.
With the additional funding and extension granted in early 2026, Alter Acadie NB will implement its membership diversification strategy and strengthen its strategy for diversifying funding sources. In doing so, the organization will further contribute to the advancement of gender equality.
