Description:
Through this 41-month project, LGBT YouthLine will build stronger capacity of 2SLGTBQI+ community organizations and networks to advance 2SLGTBQI+ equality. It will address the need to increase organizational communications capacity and increase organizational capacity to advocate for 2SLGTBQ+ youth in Ontario. The project will include the creation of a media and communications strategic plan, the implementation and assessment of communications campaigns, and the creation of an advocacy strategy. With the Supplemental funds and extension provided in early 2026, LGBT YouthLine will increase capacity for communications and social media, with specific strategies to connect with youth, and build capacity in their Peer Support program for crisis and volunteer management.  Through this they will further advance Gender Equality.

Program Purpose:

The purpose of ESSOGIE program is to advance social, political and economic equality with respect to sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression.

Advancement towards a greater understanding of the intersection of sex and gender with other identity factors that include race, national and ethnic origin, Indigenous origin or identity, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic condition, place of residence and disability are encouraged under the Program.
