Strengthening Relais-femmes∕PARR capacity

Through this 32-month project, Relais-femmes will build its capacity to advance gender equality. It will address the needs of Black and racialized women and non-binary people conducting research. The project will include creating and implementing a two-year strategic plan that will serve as a roadmap for the development of a Black and racialized anti-oppressive and anti-racist organizational structure, launching a website to share resources, and a strategic planning process. With the supplemental funds and 12-month extension provided in early 2026, Relais-Femmes will establish, with the support of consultants, a process for the acceptance, mediation, and closure of collaborations and partnerships in non‑mixed spaces. It will also draft a policy on conflicts of interest within non‑mixed spaces and develop a structured conflict‑resolution strategy adapted to these spaces within a historically white organization. Through this, they will further advance gender equality.

The purpose of the Women’s Program is to advance equality for women in Canada by working to address or remove systemic barriers impeding women’s progress and advancement. The WP supports the Government of Canada’s goal of advancing gender equality in Canada. It is consistent with Government of Canada priorities related to economic prosperity, and supports Canada’s international commitments related to gender equality.
