Description:
Through this 32-month project, THS Society of Transition Houses will build its capacity to advance gender equality. It will address an identified need to incorporate Indigenous member voices in how Board decisions are made, how the organization operates and how strategic plans are created as a non-Indigenous organization. The project will include assessing the Board’s governance through the consultation with Indigenous and non-Indigenous members as well as stakeholders, ultimately improving the Society’ governance, operations, and strategic priorities. With the Supplemental funds and extension provided in early 2026, THS Society of Transition Houses will audit and implement changes within its operations, staffing model and personnel policies, create and host an online community of practice to assess and incorporate feedback on the implementation of their governance, strategic and operational plans, develop a toolkit and online training to inform new member organizations and individuals on the adoption of a Two-eyed seeing governance, strategic and operational structure and launch the online training through a webinar with all members. Through this they will further advance Gender Equality.
