Title:
Scaling Aftermetoo to Establish Communities of Young Women Advancing Systemic Change
Agreement Number:
WP230452
Agreement Value:
$1,504,196.00
Agreement Date:
Sep 10, 2024 - Mar 31, 2027
Description:
Through this 31-month systemic change project, Aftermetoo will scale its digital platform to advance women’s representation in leadership and decision-making roles, particularly focusing on young women aged 18-34, a group highly vulnerable to gender-based workplace harassment (GBWH). This initiative will expand the reach of the original Aftermetoo digital property, to this younger demographic, addressing their critical needs for support and resources in combatting GBWH. To achieve this, the project will develop and support online communities where young women can exchange resources, learn from shared experiences, and organize for systemic change. Ambassadors with lived experience will provide support and guidance to the communities. Additionally, the project will form partnerships with key stakeholders influencing the systems that impact those experiencing GBWH, aiming to use insights from the affected communities to foster improvements in these systems.
With the Supplemental funds and extension provided in early 2026, Aftermetoo will conduct structured consultations with 2SLGBTQIA+ organizations to better understand the needs of the people they serve and restructure the information it offers for young women and 2SLGBTQIA+ people, so that AI-powered tools can reliably find and share it. This will make reliable information about workplace sexual harassment accessible through AI-mediated search tools, extending its reach to women and 2SLGBTQIA+ people who might otherwise struggle to access it, providing them with the infrastructure to connect, organize, and work toward change. Through this, they will further advance gender equality.
