Through this 30-month project, Terra Centre for Teen Parents will build its capacity to advance gender equality. It will address increasing the organization’s funding sources through hiring a grant writer to secure funding from various sources. This will help support the organizations continued growth and ability to expand services and help address limited staff capacity. The project will include evaluating the success of the grant writer and determining if there is value in retaining the position on an ongoing basis after the projects end. With the supplemental funds and extension provided in early 2026, the Terra Centre for Teen Parents will establish and develop a comprehensive electronic funding management system and a comprehensive staff development and Training Management System to further their organizational capacity. Through this they will further advance Gender Equality as the agency will be able to manage its financial and human resources systematically.

The purpose of the Women’s Program is to advance equality for women in Canada by working to address or remove systemic barriers impeding women’s progress and advancement. The WP supports the Government of Canada’s goal of advancing gender equality in Canada. It is consistent with Government of Canada priorities related to economic prosperity, and supports Canada’s international commitments related to gender equality.
