Description:
This 24-month project will support a feminist response to and recovery from the current impacts of COVID-19 through systemic change. To achieve this goal, the Réseau des lesbiennes du Québec (RLQ) plans to develop and implement province-wide data collection focused on the needs and living conditions of LGBTQ2S+ women, and implement an awareness campaign to promote Lesbian Visibility Day (LVD). The main activities under the project will aim to increase the level of knowledge and raise awareness among different civil society actors about the real needs of LGBTQ2S+ women in order to influence change in the attendant social norms and attitudes.
By the end of the project, the organization will have helped eliminate systemic barriers by promoting inclusive policies and practices; by encouraging a more effective and equitable division of resources; by increasing networks and collaboration to accelerate systemic change; by supporting a positive division of power, voice and decision-making authority; and by changing persistent and harmful gender norms and attitudes in support of women’s equality, but more specifically, women of sexual diversity.
