Description:
This 24-month project will address Pathways to Leadership’s (PTL) capacity to advance gender equality by the continued development and promotion of the PTL program. The organization will develop an outreach strategy to increase awareness of this innovative model with community-based non-profit organizations in the lower mainland and beyond. This project will build capacity and create a well-resourced and sustainable organization that supports racialized immigrant and refugee women in their social, economic, cultural, political and civic integration into Canadian society. This will be done through the development of a sustainability plan, implementing policy and procedures, developing a donor outreach and financial strategy and training board members on grant applications.
With the supplemental funds and 6-month extension granted in early 2026, Pathways to Leadership (PTL) with Racialized Immigrant and Refugee Women’s Society will boost provincial visibility through partnerships and events that share PTL research, deliver online sessions to expand the leadership integration model and sustain long-term networks, and strengthen sustainability by building communication systems and tools to share PTL’s model, outcomes, and evidence. The extension will also improve board governance through inclusive recruitment, onboarding, and advisory engagement, while advancing strategic priorities and graduate support pathways by implementing the Strategic Plan and developing internal frameworks shaped by participant feedback and evaluation—consolidating earlier capacity-building work and deepening leadership, inclusion, and empowerment for racialized immigrant and refugee women across the province.
