Canada-United Kingdom Army Staff Talks (CAN-UK AST). The annual ASTs enhance the army-to-army relationships, synchronize bilateral efforts, and improve interoperability, interdependence, and integration in accordance with the Canadian Army Engagement Strategy. The Canadian Head of Delegation (HoD) is the Deputy Commander Canadian Army (DComd CA). The current COVID-19 conditions restrict our ability to physically host these personnel within our own headquarters, and as such we are forced to meet them at third locations in order to conduct core business. This working luncheon with limited personnel represents an important strategic engagement in order to maintain the relationship between our two armies.
